Accreditation
Accreditation
The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which is an independent agency founded in 1895 that accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States. HLC accreditation applies to the entire university, all its programs, and all its locations*.
In addition, where applicable, a number of programs have been awarded program/discipline-specific accreditation. Some program/discipline-specific accreditations are related to licensure or certification to practice in a specified field. To determine if and how this applies to their program of study, prospective and enrolled students are encouraged to check with department/school advisors for additional information.
*HLC can be contacted at 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604-1413; email: info@hlcommission.org.
