Admission Decisions
Admission by Review
UNO evaluates all applicants using a holistic admissions process. We consider more than just test scores and grades, reviewing each applicant individually to determine their potential for success.
If the Assured Admission requirements are not met, the application may still be considered for Admission by Review. Factors such as cumulative GPA, class rank, ACT or SAT scores, grades in core courses, and other indicators of academic potential will be evaluated.
Additional documentation may be requested. Those admitted through Admission by Review must agree to the terms of admission, which may include completing specific courses, using academic support services, or having academic progress monitored.
Provisional Admission
Provisional admission means acceptance is granted while waiting for final admission documents. This applies to high school applicants who have not yet graduated, transfer applicants currently completing coursework, and others with pending transcripts or required documents.
Admission remains provisional until final transcripts are received and reviewed. If final coursework does not meet admission requirements, the admission offer may be revoked. All required materials must be submitted within eight weeks of enrollment to avoid an enrollment hold, which will prevent future course registration.
Academic Suspension or Dismissal
Applicants who have been academically suspended or dismissed from any college or university in the past academic year are not eligible for admission to UNO.
If UNO receives a transcript or notification showing a recent suspension or dismissal, enrollment will be canceled, and any tuition paid will be refunded. A new application may be submitted after one full year from the last term of suspension.
Deferred Admission
If admission requirements are not met, additional coursework at another institution may be required before reconsideration for admission.
Fraudulent and Incomplete Applications
Providing false or altered information on an application, transcript, or any supporting document may result in serious consequences. UNO reserves the right to revoke admission or dismiss individuals from the university if fraudulent information is discovered.
All information submitted must be complete and accurate to avoid issues with admission status.
