CIST 3000  TECHNICAL WRITING & COMMUNICATION FOR IS&T (3 credits)

Technical Writing & Communication for IS&T provides students with instruction and practice in academic and professional writing and communication related to Information Science and Technology. The course focuses on principles of technical writing, including sentence mechanics, audience, purpose, style, and formats. Students also learn advanced library-based research techniques, design of reports, and the creation of a recorded, narrated presentation.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1160 (or placement in a 3rd year writing course) and junior standing, or permission of the instructor. Not open to non-degree graduate students.
