COUN 8006 SPECIAL STUDIES IN COUNSELING (3 credits)
This course is designed to provide students with contemporary topics and issues in mental health practice offering students a comprehensive understanding of contemporary issues and methodologies in the counseling field. Building on foundational knowledge, topics will be chosen based on the relevant science and practice of counseling, theoretical frameworks, evidence-based practices, and advanced clinical skills essential for competent counseling professionals. Throughout the course students will explore a wide range of topics and emerging trends in the field to prepare them as dedicated practitioners, reflective scholars, and responsible citizens who can meet the challenges of their profession in a changing world.
Prerequisite(s): Must be admitted to the Counseling Program.
