JMC 3230  PRINCIPLES OF PUBLIC RELATIONS (3 credits)

This course will focus primarily on techniques to garner and sustain public understanding, acceptance and support for an organization. This course will explain the merits of these techniques through theory and application, and will offer constant reminders of the relationship between theory and practice. Understanding theory can result in more efficient and effective use of techniques.

Public Relations and Advertising (PR/Ad) Minor

Students may earn a minor in Public Relations and Advertising (PR/Ad) with courses selected from JMC's PR/Ad Concentration offerings. To fulfill the minor, students must complete 18 hours with 12 of those credit hours in JMC 2100, JMC 2500, JMC 3230, and JMC 3620 and 6 credits at the 2000 or higher level of PR/Ad Concentration courses (with 3 of those credits at the 4000 level). All courses in the minor must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher.
