SOC 8040 APPLIED DATA ANALYSIS & INTERPRETATION (3 credits)
This course provides an overview of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation in applied settings utilizing a hands-on, problem-based approach. Emphasis is placed on understanding data analyses and visualizations, effective interpretation of data, and using data to address real-world problems. Students will learn how translate findings into actionable insights for data-driven decision making, transform data into a captivating narrative, and craft compelling data stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing; undergraduate statistics course; permission of instructor if outside Sociology MA program.
