CFAM 1010 PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR: COMMUNICATION, FINE ARTS AND MEDIA (1 credit)
This course is designed to provide an overview of study in communication, fine arts, and media, developing techniques to guide success in their chosen field. Students will use critical thinking and reasoning to analyze themes, perspectives, and concepts drawn from academic works and career development theory to inform academic, personal, and professional lives.
Prerequisite(s): Not open to non-degree graduate students.
CFAM 2500 INTEGRATED ARTS FOR THE CLASSROOM TEACHER (1 credit)
CFAM 2500 provides students with an introduction to the theories and practices of arts integration. The course begins with an overview of art and music education for classrooms, grades PK-6. Students study foundational concepts in educational theory and learn how to apply those theoretical ideas through art and music. Finally, students learn to use the tools of "arts integration" to apply art and music techniques to curriculum in other subject areas (such as math, social studies, science, English, etc.) in ways that are developmentally appropriate for grades PK-6.
Prerequisite(s): Elementary Education Major or Permission of Instructor
CFAM 3050 CFAM HONORS COLLOQUIUM (3 credits)
Honors colloquium--Arts is an interdisciplinary course for University Honors Program students. Drawing from multiple disciplines, it provides students insight into cross-disciplinary study of the arts, centered around changing themes and/or concepts.
Prerequisite(s): University Honors Program Student status. Not open to non-degree graduate students.
