Professional BSSW Program

Students who apply and are accepted into the BSSW program complete a sequence of professional social work courses as well as a practicum experience and social work specific electives.

Additional Information About this Plan:
University Degree Requirements: The minimum number of hours for a UNO undergraduate degree is 120 credit hours. Please review the requirements for your specific program to determine all requirements for the program. In order to graduate on-time (four years for an undergraduate degree), you need to take 30 hours each year.

GPA Requirements:
Students can apply for the professional social work program in the spring semester of their sophomore year given that the proper pre-requisite courses will be complete by the end of the sophomore spring term. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA at or above 2.5 in order to apply for and begin the professional social work courses in their junior and senior year. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in order to continue in the professional social work program.
